Jules Neale has revealed she had no idea about her ex-husband Lachie Neale’s new relationship until media outlets published articles and photos of the couple.

The 36-year-old hairdresser and content creator made the revelation in a tell-all interview with Adelle Petropoulos, the first guest on her podcast Pretty Sure.

Jules said she would’ve liked to have heard about Lachie’s new relationship from the Brisbane Lions player himself before it came out in the media.

“No, a heads-up would’ve been nice, but no, I found out in the media like everybody else did,” she said.

Lachie has been dating advertising professional Emma Field following the fallout of his marriage, which ended in December.

The pair have been spotted multiple times in public together since they were first romantically linked when they were seen walking together at Brisbane Airport earlier in August.

Lachie confirmed his new romance by kissing Emma inside the Lions’ dressing room on Friday night as the team celebrated their win against Collingwood.

Jules said she isn’t familiar with Emma and that she’s “new on the scene”.

“Yes, so that’s a completely new person that I wasn’t aware of; I am now because of articles, but yeah, found out like everybody else,” she said.

When asked how she will protect her children moving forward, Jules said she had “no idea”.

“I’m figuring it out as I go, like the whole co-parenting thing, separation thing. I’m literally taking it day by day and just figuring it out as I go and just trying to do the best thing for my kids,” she said.

“I guess until now I’ve tried to not say anything either to protect them, but there’s going to be a day when they’re old enough to read, and they’ll get a phone, and they can Google, and they’re going to see all these articles and all these crazy things about their parents.

“I want them to be proud of me, proud of their mum for standing up for herself and saying what I want to say.”

The Neales marriage broke down in the public eye in December after Jules rejected reports the pair were “working through” relationship issues and declared she had been “betrayed in the most unimaginable way”.

Her former best friend Tess Crosley was subsequently linked to the scandal after a screenshot emerged of Jules demanding she remove social media pictures featuring Lachie.

Lachie confirmed the separation in January and stepped down as the Lions co-captain, admitting that he had “let my family down” and apologised for his actions.

Jules has since relocated to Perth and bought a house in Fremantle where she lives with her two young kids Piper and Freddie.
