RECAP: Jamie Elliott’s career haul sinks Fremantle despite improved effort as Collingwood take 14-point win

After one of their worst defeats in club history, Fremantle will be hoping home comforts can help them get their season back on track as they face an undermanned Collingwood.
Follow all the action live!
Treacy bombs his second!
Luke Jackson intercepts on the wing and Treacy takes a strong contested mark just outside 50.
He goes back and gives it an absolute roost as it sails through over the Pies defenders.
Great start from him and the Dockers have already passed their half-time score from last week.

Here we go
Shai Bolton is starting in the middle as Jackson starts in the ruck.
He helps them win it eventually and Josh Treacy gets the first goal of the night with a chip kick through an open goal square.
Perfect start for Freo and Teacy who was scoreless last week.
Dockers armbands
Fremantle players are wearing black armbands for Isaiah Dudley’s uncle who passed away this week.
Some players are wearing two armbands to commemorate the one year anniversary of Cam McCarthy’s death.
Those players include Sean Darcy, Alex Pearce, Brennan Cox and Luke Ryan
Midfield reinforcements
Shai Bolton and Corey Wagner are both warming up in the midfield group.
Longmuir did say he wanted others to help out their ‘thin’ midfield following their clearance smashing last week.
Expect these two to rotate through the middle throughout the night.
AFL legend weighs in on Fremantle’s fortunes
Channel 7 commentator Nick Riewodlt, who was as in Perth to watch Fremantle beat Adelaide on Anzac Day, said the team had been “ultra-competitive” when consistent.
“Consistency has been their issue, that kind of middle of the pack in terms of scoring and defending from both clearance and turnover. They’re really trying to forge that identity,” he told The West while in Perth.
“I still don’t think they’ve been able to do that consistently this year. That being said, when they’re at their best, they’ve, they’ve been ultra-competitive.”
He called out some of the Dockers’ stars for not delivering.
“I think they are screaming out for someone to come with Treacy and Amiss shows glimpses of being that player. So I think if he can elevate himself to play that second, key forward role, it’ll take a lot of the pressure off,” Riewoldt said.
“Shai Bolton’s the other one for me, he’s flash at the moment, but we still haven’t seen the player that they thought that they were recruiting.”
Justin Longmuir reflects on a tough few days.
“It gets through to you because a lot of people check in on you,” he says on Seven.
“With a six day break you have to get your head down and prepare but we feel like we’ve had a really good week of prep.
“Players got internal and second-guessed themselves, and all of a sudden the system breaks down and it all looks bad.
“Our midfield group is really keen to atone for what they dished up last week.
“Our form has been good at home so I expect what we where able to do against Adelaide two weeks ago.
“We’re a little bit thin through the midfield at the moment so we need some of our forwards to step up and help out.”
Purple Hands game
It’s more than just a game tonight with Fremantle hosting their fourth annual Purple Hands Foundation Game.
Last year’s game raised more than $60,000 with the club hoping to raise more than $85,000 tonight.
Fans will be able to donate $10 by purchasing light up wrist bands or there are QR codes around the ground and on their website.
Players are also wearing special warm-up jumpers which will be auctioned off post-game.
The Purple Hands Foundation aims to support young people and instil life skills and behaviours through the power of sport to ensure no one is left behind.

A rare Thursday game for Freo
It is just the fourth time in the club’s history they are playing Thursday night footy.
No late changes
Neil Erasmus will be the sub for Fremantle.
Oleg Markov will start on the bench for Collingwood.
Are the Cats ready to pounce on Jackson?
Despite Fremantle shutting down rumours Luke Jackson could be open to a Melbourne return earlier this season, a new club has emerged as a potential suitor.
