RECAP: Fremantle Dockers earn revenge against Ross Lyon’s St Kilda at Optus Stadium

Fremantle equal their best streak under Justin Longmuir with a thrilling sixth-straight victory against the Saints.
The Saints laid a Melbourne ambush for the Dockers in their last meeting earlier this year, handing the harbour club a stinging defeat.
But despite owning the contest and looking like stealing an unlikely road victory, Fremantle’s cream rose to the top in the final quarter to seal victory.
Recap all the action from Optus Stadium in our blog.
Bounce down!
Bolton starts in the middle with Rowan Marshall winning the first clearance with a soccer.
Macrae made a nice pick up and handball before a clever kick found Higgins.
The small forward kicked five here in the loss to West Coast but misses his first set shot.
The miss hurts extra as a look-away handball from Bolton over the shoulder unleashed the Dockers’ transition.
Treacy makes light work of the set shot for the first of the match.

Starlight Purple Haze match
Today is the Dockers’ 23rd Starlight game.
And the young rep is rocking the boots today!
Last minute preps
After the rugby last night, the Optus Stadium ground staff had a huge job getting the ground ready for AFL.
And they look to have done a great job with the final markings being laid down just a few hours before the bounce.

Saints’ message
St Kilda’s cheer squad has plenty of confidence in their side today!
The banner reads: “Back against the Dockers make it 2-0, Let’s give Freo the old heave ho”.
Some of the club’s youngest fans lined the way for the visitors to run through as well.
Last time out
Fremantle will be very keen to erase the result from last time out.
In one of the most dour games of the year the Saints ran out 61-point winners, Fremantle managing to kick just five goals.
Caleb Serong was kept to just 14 touches while Luke Jackson had just 11.
However, since that result, the Dockers have dropped just one game which was to league leaders Collingwood.
Can they get the result today?
No changes
Fremantle head into the game with no changes while Nat Fyfe is back in the subs vest.
He played a full game last week but had better impact during his two appearances as the sub.
Welcome!
It’s a big day for Fremantle.
They can equal their best-ever winning streak under Justin Longmuir with victory over St Kilda but Ross Lyon will have a thing or two to say about it.
The Dockers were embarressed by the Saints at Marvel earlier this year and need to have learnt their lessons.
The ground is looking chopped after the British and Irish Lions spanked the Western Force last night but should be fine.
At least better than the SCG!
