North Melbourne small forward Paul Curtis has been offered a three-week suspension for the dumping tackle that concussed Eagle Hamish Davis on Saturday.

Curtis pinned both arms in a dangerous tackle mid-way through the first term of the thrilling clash at Optus Stadium, with Davis’ head hitting the turf with force.

The young Eagle was left in a bad way on the ground and unsteady after getting back to his feet with the help of trainers, and the 20-year-old was then ruled out of the remainder of the game, which the Kangaroos won by one point.

The Match Review Officer deemed the tackle careless, severe impact and high contact, handing down a three-week ban.

It’s the second time this season Curtis has been offered three weeks for a dangerous tackle.

After round one, Curtis lost a case at the Tribunal following a very similar tackle that left Port Adelaide player Josh Sinns concussed.

The small forward also served a three-week ban after that incident.

Davis has played every game this season for West Coast after eight in his first year at the club, which drafted him with pick No.65 in 2024.

He will now enter concussion protocols, but potentially won’t miss a game as the Eagles have a bye next week.

It is yet another injury blow for the WA club, who went into the North Melbourne contest with several first-choice players missing after their six-point defeat to Port Adelaide.

Key defender Reuben Ginbey is sidelined for several weeks with a torn quad, while half-back Tom McCarthy (hamstring) and No.1 draftee Willem Duursma (calf) were also out of the side with injury.
