It may have been a summer without cricket for Cam Green but the Australian all-rounder has every reason to smile after getting engaged to long-time partner Emily Redwood.

The couple announced their engagement on Sunday after the 25 year-old star popped the question down in Yallingup, WA.

“Love this girl!! (forever),” Green wrote.

Emily shared that Green proposed over breakfast: “Yesterday’s Weetbix interruption.”

The couple have been together for about five years, with Emily a fixture by Green’s side throughout his rise up the WA ranks and into the Test side.

Teammates rushed to celebrate the news.

“Matter of time. Congrats,” Usman Khawaja laughed while his wife Rachel said: “Omgggg congratulations!! What incredible news, so very happy for you both.”

Cooper Connolly said: “Love this, congrats.”

Baxter Holt wrote: “This has made my year!! Congrats you two, absolutely incredible news!!”

Green missed the summer of cricket due to back surgery in October.

The allrounder has not played for the national team since a one-day series in England in September.

He missed the home Test series against India and the away series in Sri Lanka but is expected to be back in action in April.

It means Green could feature in the World Test Championship final against South Africa at Lord’s in June, or Australia’s tour of the West Indies a month later.

Selectors are expected to rush him back into the fray, particularly after he scored 174 not out in Wellington in the last Test series he played.

Green has also been a sensation in the shorter forms of the game.

A pair of brutal 50s in Twenty20 internationals in India led to a bidding war in the 2022 IPL auction.

Green eventually fetched $3.15 million from Mumbai Indians and made his mark with a stunning 47-ball century in the 2023 tournament.
