Australia will be keen to wrap things up in quick time as they face a small run chase on day four of the second Test against Sri Lanka.

Follow the latest below, with play again set to start at 12.30pm WA time.

Chris Robinson

Australia 0-11

The visitors have now seen off the first four overs without incident.

A wrinkle to watch out for: How will Marnus Labuschagne go if he’s required to bat here? He’s desperate for a score but won’t have enough runs to play with... but there’s the possibility of another failure if he does get an opportunity. Hiding to nothing, in a way!

Chris Robinson

Australia 0-8

There’s a couple of nervy moments early for Head, who almost gets bowled by a Nishan Peiris blinder.

But he lives to tell the tale, and counterpunches with a cut - albeit an unconvicing one - for four. Big turn being generated here.

Time for the chase

Just 75 needed as Usman Khawaja and Travis Head come out to the middle.

We’re ready to go. It’s spin from the outset with Ramesh Mendis. Will there be any early jitters with the turning ball or smooth sailing?

Chris Robinson

OUT! No doubt about that one!

We won’t need the TV umpire intervention for this one!

Kumara attempts a slog sweep off Webster and misses, with the ball crashing into his off stump.

That’s it for the Sri Lankan innings at 231 - and it means the Aussies are chasing just 75 to wrap this series up at 2-0.

Another close call

Lyon AGAIN very nearly ends it!

The Aussies thought they had Kumara for 8, caught at second slip by Webster, but as it goes to the TV umpire, there’s sufficient doubt about whether it hit the ground before going into the hands. It’s given not out.

Sri Lanka work their way to 9-231, a lead of 74.

Chris Robinson

BIG APPEAL - not given

The Aussies review!

Lyon pins Nishan on the pad pressing forward, and it’s not given despite a big shout. The review shows umpire’s call with the ball clipping leg.

Chris Robinson

OUT! Lyon strikes!

That’s the big one! Mendis goes!!

Lyon has his man, and it’s a soft dismissal in the end. He looks to pull a shortish one and mistimes it horribly, with the ball ballooning to Steve Smith at short fine.

It’s now 9-217 - effectively 9-60 - as Nishan comes to the crease. We’re set for a short day now, surely.

Chris Robinson

Sri Lanka 8-217

The home side switches up the order and elevate Lahiru Kumara, who provided stubborn resistance at No.11 alongside Mendis in the first dig.

The pair successfully navigate the first two overs from Kuhnemann and Nathan Lyon and nudge the lead out to 60. Mendis also raises the bat for 50.

Chris Robinson

Set to go

Mitchell Starc has put down the Sherrin used in the warm-ups and is ready to take to the field with his teammates.

It’ll be Mendis to resume at the crease alongside new batter Nishan Peiris, who lasted just three balls in the first innings.

He’s facing Matt Kuhnemann, who’s got five deliveries remaining in his over after his day-ending scalp of Prabath Jayasuriya.

Brilliant Beau

Beau Webster’s first Test wicket was with pace - and his second was with spin!

The giant allrounder chats about the state of the match with Seven after chipping in with a crucial scalp late in yesterday’s day three.
