The Perth Scorchers are in action needing to win to stay alive in the finals race - after the Renegades did them a massive favour in chasing down a big target against Brisbane.

Perth will have to chase down whatever Adelaide make inside 18 overs, and then have Hobart beat the Melbourne Stars tomorrow, in order to play BBL finals.

What now?

So it all comes down to Hobart’s clash with the Melbourne Stars tomorrow.

If the Stars win, they’re in, and they’ll face Sydney Thunder in the first elimination final. If not, the Scorchers will take their place.

Hobart will host Sydney Sixers in the other first final regardless of tomorrow’s events, with the winner to progress straight to the final.

Unfortunately, the Scorchers won’t have Cooper Connolly should they make it, with the youngster heading to Sri Lanka in the coming hours to join the Test squad.

Player of the Match: Jason Behrendorff

3-21 earns the veteran quick MOTM honours - with Cooper Connolly super stiff, you’d have to say!

What a showing from the WA side. They just don’t lie down easily...

GAME OVER! SCORCHERS ARE STILL ALIVE!!!

CONNOLLY GOES BANG, BANG DOWN THE GROUND AND IT’S GAME OVER!

The Scorchers win with 22 balls to spare and are still very, very much in the finals hunt!

Connolly will no doubt be Player of the Match, backing up his strong bowling performance with a crucial 39no off 21 balls to guide Perth home.

That’s a superb showing after a shaky start, and another stunning result to keep the Scorchers’ season rolling!

Holding their nerve...

12 runs needed, 14 balls left...

SPOORS HITS FOURS!

Matt Spoors reverse sweeps for four off the final ball of the over!

Just 21 off 24 required now!

Hobson goes!

Hobson is bowled by Matt Short! Yorked him!

Is there a late twist?

27 needed off 21 to stay alive in finals, with 5 wickets in hand... and crucially, Connolly still at the other end.

Matt Spoors is the new man and would likely be feeling some nerves right now...

Scorchers shaping up...

Perth are closing in!

Buckingham has a rough over to end the power surge, coughing up three wides and getting blasted back over his head for six by Hobson!

It’s 4-132, with 30 needed from the final four overs - at 7.5 an over - to satisfy the finals equation.
