Cricket: The series may be decided, but plenty of pride will be on the line in the fifth and final Test of The Ashes between Australia and England at the SCG.

The tourists were able to put what had been a torrid tour where they surrendered the urn inside 11 match days behind them by claiming their first victory on Australian shores in 15 years in a fast-forward Boxing Day Test.

Australia’s hopes of a 5-0 whitewash were swept away with the loss, but Steve Smith’s side will be looking to ensure England are sent home with a bitter taste in their mouths.

Stay across the latest Ashes action as Australia and England resume their battle in Sydney.

64th Over - AUS 3-272

Tongue to Head, who’s defending on off stump.

Drops and runs a single into the offside.

On the hip and Smith flicks two square wide of fine leg.

Close! Smith is surprised by some bounce and nearly spoons a catch to mid-off.

DROPPED! Smith almost falls into the leg slip trap as it goes low and wide of a diving Brook who gets his hand too hit but puts it down. Tough chance.

63rd Over - AUS 3-268

WOAH! Smith goes for a booming drive and it shapes away off the angle to beat his edge. Crazy shot 10 minutes before lunch.

MISSED RUN OUT! Smith dinks one into the legside, and Head is sooo slow and would have been gone had Duckett’s throw hit.

Head drives and it comes off the inside edge past the stumps for one.

Crazy over but no damage done.

150 for Travis Head!

Short outside off and Head backs away to uppercut over the slips for another four and bring up his second 150 of the series and seventh of his career.

He’s still going at better than a run a ball and that Will Jacks drop is only looking worse.

61st Over - AUS 3-260

SIX! Massive as Head crushes the pull into the Bill O’Reilly stand. His first of the innings to bring up the 100 for Potts.

He flicks a single around the corner to move to 149.

Smith is defending the rest.

60th Over - AUS 3-253

Head steps back and works a single to point.

Smith doesn’t look overly comfortable out there.

SHOT! As I type that Smith carves the short wide ball forward of point for four and brings up 250 for Australia.

Beaten! Fiddling outside off with some steep bounce.

59th Over - AUS 3-248

Potts to Smith as we enter the last half hour before lunch.

LBW shout as the inswing beats Smith’s defence, but the umpire is unmoved, it was going over.

Another half shout off the last ball. A maiden for Potts is first of the innings.

58th Over - AUS 3-248

Josh Tongue on as he has a brilliant record against Smith.

Hangs it outside off as Smith leaves.

Gets off strike witha quick single into the offside.

Tongue is short over legside to Head, who’s not tempted.

Head rides the bounce to defend

57th Over - AUS 3-247

Head steps away and slaps Carse for one wide of cover.

Runs. Smith gets off the mark as he drives the wide ball uppishly through cover for two.

He then jumps across and bunts a single into the legside.

FOUR! Brutal form Head as he smashes a pull all along the ground to split midwicket and mid-on for four.

56th Over - AUS 3-239

Head misses a pull off Potts.

FOUR! Head still happy to take on the legside field and pulls just wide of a diving Brook and backward square.

He flicks a single around the corner. The deficit is now below 150.

Smith defends the last.

WICKET Neser ct Smith b Carse 24

Carse to Head who bunts a single into the acres of space now offered on the legside.

Neser goes to back away now but pulls out as it keeps rising.

GONE! Out of nowhere Carse pitches on a good length, and Neser has no foot movement as he fiddles an edge through to Smith.

The short ball plan had him pinned to the crease and there was some decent outswing. Finally some relief for England.
