32nd over - AUS 5/118

Sundar bowling from the Langer end.

Big shout as Head rocks bat and is almost bowled on the cut. Sundar thought it was pad first but it’s all bat.

He gets a single-out to point.

Marsh pushes a single to mid-off. Head gets one to long-off. Marsh gets one to mid-off. Head gets one to long-off.

Some nice symmetry as this pair ticks along

31st over - AUS 5/113

Head solidly defends the first.

On the pads and flicked through mid-wicket for two.

Rides the bounce and gets one at to point.

SIX! Short ball and Marsh takes it on the pull and deposits it for six at square leg.

Leaves the last which rolls along the turf after it doesn’t bounce.

We’re back

Marsh and Head return to the middle with Harshit Rana with the ball.

How long can this pair drag it out?

Head battling hard

He goes into the main break unbeaten on 63 and put on a good partnership with Steve Smith before he was removed by a peach from Siraj.

2 wickets for 92 runs in that session which is an even session in isolation but one that has India closing in on 1-0.

The only jeopardy now is if Head can continue on for a big score and if Marsh and Carey can get some runs.

30th over - AUS 5/104 LUNCH

Bumrah to bowl the last before lunch.

Marsh punches two through the covers.

A no-ball extends the over. Marsh defends the last and will survive until lunch.

29th over - AUS 5/101

Siraj continues the short ball plan to Head but he’s able to work the first off his hip for an easy single.

Marsh is beaten again on the defensive prod.

He finally gets off the mark with a drive out to point for three.

FOUR. Gets the line wrong to Head who pulls fine for four to bring up the team 100.

28th over - AUS 5/93

Bumrah sets the field for the short ball.

Head works the first one off the hip for two.

He guides the ramp wide of the deep third man but he does well to keep it to two.

Goes for the pull this time but misses as Pant does well to stop the byes.

Tries to sucker him in with the full ball but Head check drives for one.

Marsh is lucky to survive the last ball which ballons off his gloves but lands safe backward of square.

50 for Head

Takes on the short ball and ramps it over the keeper for four.

He’s played well this inning.

On the pads and flicked through mid-wicket for three.

Marsh defends the rest as he’s still to get off the mark.

26th over - AUS 5/81

Bumrah replaces Sundar.

Head gets a single to square leg to move to 46.

CLOSE. Marsh fences at one that whizzes past the outside edge.

Next one spits at him as it comes off the glove but lands safely on the legside.

25th over - AUS 5/79

Mitch Marsh comes into a warm reception.

His first ball jags back to hit him on the body.

He defends the second.
