Caulfield racecourse: Major fire destroys famous grandstand at Melbourne metropolitan racetrack
A major fire has raged in the famous grandstand at Caulfield racecourse in Melbourne.
Fire Rescue Victoria stated that theor crews were called shortly after 6am on Tuesday morning and the response was escalated to a third Alarm, indicating a significant fire.

Victoria Police said the fire had been deemed suspicious and a crime scene had been set up.
Local residents were warned about smoke in the area.
A Vic Emergency advice message was flagged for nearby suburbs of Ashburton, Carnegie, Caulfield, Caulfield East, Caulfield North, Caulfield South, Glen Huntly, Glen Iris, Malvern, Malvern East, Murrumbeena and Ormond.
“There is currently no threat to the community, but you should continue to stay informed and monitor conditions,” the alert said.
Traffic in the area surrounding the racecourse is expected to be affected.
Nobody was injured in the blaze and anyone with information has been urged to contact CrimeStoppers on 1800 333 000.
