Matildas hero Tameka Yallop celebrates safe arrival of second daughter

Matildas veteran Tameka Yallop and her wife Kirsty, a former New Zealand international star, have celebrated the safe arrival of their second daughter, Nova.

The pair introduced their newborn and her unique name in a joint post on Friday.

“On the 29.9.25 our baby girl was born, Nova Jay Yallop,” they said.

“Harley is loving being a big sister.”

The post was quickly flooded with messages of support from Yallop’s Matildas teammates, including Clare Polkinghorne, Teagan Micah, Clare Wheeler, Charlotte Grant and Michelle Heyman, among others.

The couple announced in April that they were expecting.

“We have been hanging out to share this special news... Harley is bursting with excitement that she is going to be a big sister,” the Yallops wrote at the time.

“Baby Yallop number two coming soon.”

The Yallops’ arrival is be the latest addition in the extended Matildas family.

Kirsty, 38, retired from football in 2018 and gave birth to Harley in 2020.

Katrina Gorry gave birth to daughter Harper in 2021 and last year welcomed her second child when partner Clara Markstedt gave birth to son Koby.

Mewis, 34, put her career with West Ham and the United States national team on hold to carry the baby boy.
