Matildas star Caitlin Foord smacks home four goals as Arsenal belt Rangers in Champions League
Caitlin Foord has started her club season in style with the Matildas striker cracking four goals as Arsenal drubbed Rangers 6-0 in a Women’s Champions League qualifier.
The Matildas ace settled the battle of Britain with a superb display at Meadow Park in greater north London’s outskirts.
Foord opened the scoring early in the first half on Wednesday with a fine far-post header from Spanish debutant Mariona Caldentey.

Moments later Alessia Russo added the third with a drive from the edge of the area.
Foord completed her treble with a spectacular volley at the far post from Katie McCabe’s cross.
Little added the fifth from the penalty spot and Foord wrapped up a comprehensive win when she tapped in a rebound from close range.
Arsenal will meet Norway’s Rosenborg, surprise 3-2 winners on penalties after a 2-2 draw against Atletico Madrid, on Saturday, for a place in round two of qualifying, the tournament’s final phase before it reaches the group stage.
Last year Arsenal failed to reach the group stage after a shock defeat to Paris FC in qualifying and are under considerable pressure to do so this year.
