Matildas veteran Tameka Yallop and wife Kirsty, a former New Zealand international star, have announced they are expecting their second child together.

The couple are already parents to daughter Harley, who featured in the reveal alongside ultrasound photos.

Teammates rushed to celebrate ahead of this week’s matches against South Korea in Sydney and Newcastle.

“We have been hanging out to share this special news... Harley is bursting with excitement that she is going to be a big sister,” the Yallops wrote.

“Baby Yallop number two coming soon.”

Matildas star Ellie Carpenter said: “Best news ever!! Congratulations.”

Goalkeeper Teagan Micah wrote: “AHHH CONGRATS! Best news. She will be an amazing older sister!!!!”

Midfielder Katrina Gorry said: “Congrats Meeks. So excited for you guys.”

The Yallops’ impending arrival will be the latest addition in the extended Matildas family.

Kirsty, 38, retired from football in 2018 and gave birth to Harley in 2020.

Gorry gave birth to daughter Harper in 2021 and last year welcomed her second child when partner Clara Markstedt gave birth to son Koby.

Mewis, 34, put her career with West Ham and the United States national team on hold to carry the baby boy.

Meanwhile, Gorry has been withdrawn from the Matildas squad to face South Korea after suffering an ankle injury playing for West Ham on Sunday.

The extent of the damage is unclear but the club said the 32-year-old, who missed time at the end of last season with an ankle injury, is already undergoing rehab.

“Everyone at the club would like to wish Mini well in her recovery,” West Ham said.

Melbourne City’s Leah Davidson has stepped in for her second call-up to the Matildas squad.
