NRL great Wendell Sailor pleads guilty to resisting police during late-night incident
Former NRL and rugby union great Wendell Sailor has admitted to hindering police during a late-night incident in Wollongong last year.
Ex-NRL star Wendell Sailor has pleaded guilty to resisting police following a late-night incident on a Wollongong street late last year.
Sailor on Monday appeared in Wollongong Local Court where he entered a guilty plea to one count of hindering or resisting police over the incident on Throsby Drive, Wollongong, at about 11pm on December 5 last year.
At the time, police were responding to reports of a man obstructing traffic.

On Monday, prosecutors withdrew a separate charge of wilfully preventing free passage of person/vehicle.
Sailor spent the night in custody following his arrest, and appeared in Bail Court via videolink Wollongong Police Station.
The incident was a result of “difficulties” in his personal life, including the breakdown of the dual-code internationals’ 28-year marriage, his lawyer told his bail hearing in December.
He was ultimately released on bail.
Sailor, who played for the Broncos and Dragons, will appear in court for sentencing on March 23.
