The incident left rainwater pouring inside his home, creating a mess just hours before one of the biggest games of the year.

Despite the inconvenient timing, Cleary saw the funny side of the situation, posting “beauty” on the video that showed the damage.

He also added: “Anyone got a magician that can fix my roof?”

In hardly an ideal build-up, the Panthers co-captain is now dealing with home repairs on top of his final preparations for the clash with reigning premiers Brisbane.

The home has sentimental value for Cleary, who purchased it for $1.175 million in 2013.

Cleary lived in it when he was a teenager and it was previously owned by his father and coach, Ivan.

The home is close to the Panthers’ headquarters in Penrith, and is next to the Nepean River.

The Panthers are taking on the Broncos at Brisbane’s Suncorp Stadium tonight (Friday).

With the Panthers in Queensland, Cleary has been able to catch up with girlfriend Mary Fowler who is there with the Matildas for their Asian Cup campaign.

The Matildas won their match on the Gold Coast last night, defeating Iran host 4-0.
