Sydney Roosters centre Billy Smith may miss the key clash against arch rival Souths on Friday after crashing his e-bike.

The 26-year-old was on the e-bike in the Moore Park precinct on Thursday afternoon when he was injured with a possible head knock.

He is being assessed by doctors, before the club decides if he is fit to play in the Round 2 blockbuster on Friday night.

Smith was reportedly doubling teammate Egan Butcher, who was uninjured in the accident.

Roosters players use e-bikes and scooters to get to their training sessions at Kippax Lake Oval and club facilities inside Allianz Stadium.

It’s another injury blow for the Rooster, who has been sidelined for all but 46 games of his NRL career thanks to injuries.

There could be more than 40,000 fans in Moore Park on Friday for a battle between the NRL’s fiercest rivals, where South star Alex Johnston is in line to break Ken Irvine’s try-scoring record.

Extra security set to be on site to ensure spectators are safe in case Johnston breaks the record.

The Game AFL 2026

It would be extra spicy if it were to happen at Allianz Stadium given the ongoing turf war between the two clubs as the Bunnies try to take home games to the Moore Park precinct.

Meanwhile, Roosters star Angus Crichton will also mark a milestone in the game, playing his 200th NRL game,

Crichton injured his arm in 2024 after coming off an e-skateboard on Driver Ave near the Rooster headquarters.
