Brisbane Olympics 2032: New Victoria Park Stadium, National Aquatics Centre headline city facelift

STADIUMS, REGIONS AND TRANSPORT UPGRADES
* Main Olympic stadium built at Victoria Park, 63,000-seat capacity.
* National Aquatics Centre built on site of Brisbane’s Centenary Pool, 25,000-seat capacity

* Queensland Tennis Centre to be upgraded, including 3000-seat show court arena and 12 new match courts
* New indoor sport centres at Logan and Moreton Bay
* New whitewater rafting centre in the Redlands, east of Brisbane
* New arena on the Gold Coast and upgrades to existing hockey venue and convention centre
* Toowoomba Showgrounds to be transformed into Equestrian Centre of Excellence
* Upgrade to Barlow Park Stadium in Cairns
* Rockhampton will host rowing, with an athletes village for rowers to be built at a revitalised rail yards precinct
* Sailing will be split between Townsville and the Whitsundays
* Archery will be held in Maryborough
* Football held across Townsville and Cairns
* Chandler sporting precinct in Brisbane’s south to be converted into Para-Sports Community Facility
The Queensland government also promised an improved transport network including:
* ‘The Wave’, a direct rail line running from Beerwah to Birtinya that will link with Sunshine Coast airport through to Maroochydore
* New rail lines and stations in Brisbane including northern and eastern bus priority corridors and road upgrades
* Coomera connector, an alternate road connection between Brisbane and the Gold Coast
* Upgrades to the Bruce Highway under an 80-20 funding arrangement with the federal government across coastal areas of Queensland
