In a slick video on her Instagram page, the 37-year-old called on fans to prove they could do “better” than her.

“I’ve heard some of you think you can do better than me,” Raygun says in the video.

“Really? Let’s find out, shall we,” as the dancer then begins to make some her now trademark moves.

The best solo dancer will win $5000, while the top dance crew of two or more will land $10,000.

But, as was the case when Raygun announced herself to the world during the Olympics, she has once again stumbled into a barrage of criticism.

“The cringe part two,” one person commented.

While another said: “Bloody hell, she’s cringe.”

And another: “If unable to read the room was a person ...”

And another: “This is the same sub-par stuff we already saw? Like, the exact same? Just with less silly moves added in. Are we supposed to be impressed now?”

And another: “That really hurt to watch can u at least do a backflip or something.”

And another: “Not that we think we can do better. As an Olympian we thought you would have done better!”

While another thought it was all a masterplan by the Aussie.

“The whole thing was a stroke of genius on her behalf and she’s now the one laughing all the way to the bank!!” they said.

The renewed criticism is a brutal flashback to the moment she became a global inspiration for a barrage of memes, skits and jokes.

That’s in addition to the endless memes that have been created on social media.

But Raygun says they’re laughing with her, not at her.

“I’ve got a digital pool room of all the best ones,” she said of the memes, speaking to Stellar magazine, which she appeared on the cover of in a dazzling new look on Sunday.

“My friends were all sending them to me and I loved it. I loved the people laughing with me because, yeah, I was doing some wacky stuff. I know that.”

Raygun obviously has her supporters, too, with fans saying on her latest video, “Rather than blasting her, give her some love.”

She has also been celebrated on stage by Adele during a concert, hung out with billionaire Richard Branson on his cruise ship, was pictured having lunch with British pop star Boy George, and has commercial opportunities everywhere she looks.

Raygun says it’s still hard to fathom the whirlwind the past few months have been.

“It’s been so hard to process,” she said.

“My whole world has changed. My identity has changed. My relationships have changed, for better or for worse.

“It’s in times like these that you find out who your real friends are, unfortunately. And because things are still changing, it’s just impossible to wrap your head around.

“It’s hard to predict what it’s going to be like when I leave the house.

“It’s still a process because I’m having to prioritise my own health.

“I speak to my family when I can, but it’s hard for me to know the toll it’s taken on them because I think that will take a toll on me.”
