It’s set to be one of the richest sporting events ever, with Mike Tyson and Jake Paul set to battle in front of a Netflix audience of millions.

YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul has spoken about his wildly expensive outfit that he will wear for the eagerly awaited fight against former heavyweight champion Mike Tyson.

Paul, 27, claims the outfit that he’s made for the fight “is the most expensive fight outfit in the history of boxing”, while revealing some other major details about his entrance.

“It’s $1 million ... it costs a pretty penny and it’s very shiny, that’s the hint I will give,” Paul revealed ahead of the fight on Saturday (3pm AEDT).

“And for the walkout, I’m going to be driving in a certain vehicle to the ring.”

In an interview with TMZ sports, Paul has also shown off some glittering ear coverings that he will wear for the fight.

Of course, the coverings are poking fun at Tyson’s ugly 1997 incident in the ring with Evander Holyfield where he infamously bit off a chunk of his heavyweight rival’s ear.

The ear covers are made by Paul’s jewellery sponsor Vobara and reportedly cost $100,000 each.

As for the rest of the details about Paul’s entrance, he remained reasonably tightlipped.

“You’re gonna have to wait and see,” he said.

“(But) the song is sort of related to Mike Tyson’s career and a film that he did.”

Tyson recently spoke to 7NEWS.com.au about his preparation for the event and was quizzed about the Holyfield incident.

When asked whether Paul should fear a similar fate, Tyson was coy.

“It’s a possibility — you never know,” he said with a grin. “We’ll have to see.”

Tyson last stepped into a ring on a professional level in 2005 but he looked reasonable sharp in his last hitout before main event.

“Mike Tyson is looking scary in the open workout before the Jake Paul fight,” said popular boxing account Happy Punch on X (formerly Twitter).

He gave an insight to his intense preparation for the event on 7NEWS, saying “My day is long, it’s all day.”

Paul, with a 10-1 record, has been calling for this match for years, and now Tyson believed the time was right.

The fight was initially scheduled for July but had to be delayed after Tyson suffered a health scare on a flight in May.

Tyson experienced an ulcer flare-up, which left him temporarily unfit to compete. .

“In the morning, I’m running, training, exercise, coming to the gym, boxing, sparring, strength and conditioning, weights,” he said.

“It’s just an all-day process … we’re close to the fight now, so it’s only two times a day.”

“I go box, then I do strength and conditioning, and that’s it.”

For a man approaching pension eligibility, Tyson’s rigorous schedule may seem excessive, but for the former heavyweight champion, it’s about reclaiming a sense of purpose and achievement.

“Experience,” he says when asked how he has developed such a calm approach to his preparation.

“It comes with experience. Yeah, for sure.”

That the fight will be streamed live on Netflix has only added fuel to his fire.

“It adds more stimulation to me,” Tyson said.

“I’m very excited that I’m on Netflix and it’s going to be the biggest event in the history of events at this particular moment. And that’s what moves me. That’s what motivates me to be the biggest star ever.”

The fight also taps into Tyson’s deep-rooted warrior mentality — something he has carried throughout his career.

When asked to elaborate on his remark that he would prefer to die in the ring than in a hospital bed, Tyson doesn’t hold back.

“I don’t want to be sick in the bed. I’d rather die in the ring and give it glory than be sick in the bed and dying,” he said.

“There’s something to that attitude.”

Fans, however, remain divided on whether this clash should even be happening.

But for Tyson, it’s not about age or physical limits — it appears to be about cementing his legacy in a sport he helped define, and perhaps more importantly, defining a new chapter in the future of boxing.

Jake Paul v Mike Tyson will stream live exclusively on Netflix on Saturday November 16 at 3PM AEDT.
