Driver dies in single-car crash at Sydney Motorsport Park during NSW Motor Race Championship

The race track has become a crime scene as police investigate the tragedy.

A racing car driver has died in a single-vehicle crash during a state championship event at a motorsport park.

Emergency services were called to Sydney Motorsport Park after the incident on Saturday night during the NSW Motor Race Championship.

Paramedics gave medical treatment to the driver, aged 53, but he died at the scene.
