LIV Golf rolled into The Grange Golf Club in Adelaide on Friday and it didn't take long for the crowd at the Watering Hole to get up and about.

American golfer Patrick Reed has aced the Watering Hole in a stunning start to LIV Golf’s Adelaide tournament.

Reed’s hole-in-one at the par-3 12th hole at The Grange came just 15 minutes into Friday’s opening round.

Reed was immediately showered with drinks thrown by massive crowds lining the party hole.

Reed’s sweetest of shots is just the second ace at the hole in LIV Golf’s four years staging a tournament in Adelaide, following Chase Koepka’s hole-in-one in 2023.

The 34-year-old Reed completed the feat with just the sixth tee shot at the hole on Friday.

Reed is one under after four holes, a shot behind the early leaders, Englishman Tyrell Hatton and China’s Lee Chieh-po.

Reigning US Open champion Bryson DeChambeau birdied his initial two holes but then dropped a shot to be with a batch alongside Reed.

Former world No.1 Jon Rahm and South African stalwart Louis Oosthuizen are also one under.

Australia’s fan favourite Cam Smith is at even par, as his countryman Lucas Herbert, but their Ripper GC teammates Marc Leishman and Matt Jones (both two over) are struggling early.
