South Fremantle Colts teen Tyler Rowe eased out of coma more than a week after North Lake crash
A Perth teenager who suffered critical injuries in a crash that claimed the life of his friend has been woken from a coma after 11 days in intensive care, loved ones have told 7NEWS.com.au.
South Fremantle Colts player Tyler Rowe was a passenger in a Toyota HiLux that rolled and collided with a Jeep Patriot on Farrington Rd in North Lake late on July 13.
The talented footballer, 18, sustained severe head injuries and several broken bones in the crash.

“(Doctors and family are) now waiting to see how he responds. They’re still not sure of the extent of the damage,” Dijana Triscari told 7NEWS.com.au.
Triscari said Wednesday’s development was a positive sign for family who have not left Rowe’s bedside in intensive care at Royal Perth Hospital.
But they know they have a long road ahead.
Triscari said Rowe’s family had been overwhelmed by the support shown to them in the wake of the crash.
That includes generous donations made to a fundraiser she launched on behalf of his parents to help cover the costs of ongoing medical expenses and rehabilitation.
“They’re really so overwhelmed by the donations,” Triscari said.
“They can’t thank people who have contributed enough. It’s been great. They have come from everywhere.”
Rowe’s teammate Nick Campo, also a passenger in the HiLux, was killed in the crash.
His parents told 7NEWS last week they were still trying to make sense of their son’s death.
“He was a beautiful boy and he’s going to be missed by so many people,” Bianca Campo said.
A 17-year-old driver has been charged.
