Kerr watch

Sam Kerr is playing some of her best football after finally recovering from her ACL injury.

She made it six Perth games in a row with a goal after sealing Australia’s semifinal victory over China but can her form travel to the east coast?

But she won’t be the only threat up top if the Matildas can get their ball movement going with Caitlin Foord and Mary Fowler begging for some chances to shine.

Filing in

The fans are steadily piling into the ground and the Matildas will have a very one-sided support tonight.

There’s a few Japanese fans around who I’m sure will make some noise.

One Australia change

One change for the Matildas with Hunt out and Heatley in with Montemurro saying it is a technical change to allow them to pass out from the back better.

The big time

This is Australia’s first major final in eight years but it’s only Joe Montemurro’s 14th match in charge of the Matildas.

Can he and the team rise to the pressure?

Joe looked pretty calm pre-game and said “the girls are ready”.

HERE. WE. GO!

We are under an hour away from kick off as the Matildas stride for Asian Cup glory.

Japan have been red-hot with 28 goals across the tournament while only allowing one against.

But Sam Kerr is in form and the girl from Fremantle likes a big game!
