The police investigation into the 1997 unsolved murder of 11-year-old Gerard Ross has become one of the largest in Western Australia’s history, second only to the Macro investigation into the Claremont serial killings, having generated almost 10,000 police job logs.

Gerard vanished during a family holiday at Rockingham, south of Perth, in October 1997.

Horse trainer Mick Miller found his body in the Karnup pine plantation, 20km away, two weeks later.
