The partner of murdered surfer Callum Robinson has shared a heartbreaking voice message that he left for her before he was killed in Mexico.

Emily Horwath has posted devastated tributes to her slain partner on Instagram after the 33-year-old and his younger brother Jake, 30, and their American friend Jack Carter Rhoad, 30, were found dead last week.

Mexican authorities believe the trio were shot dead after a botched robbery by thieves who, they allege, wanted the surfers’ ute for spare parts.

Among the rolling memorial of photo and video tributes that Ms Horwath has posted to her personal account of Callum, she shared a touching voice message that the surfer sent to her before his shocking death.

“Happy Tuesday! Good morning,” Callum says.

“Hope you’re having a phenomenal start to your day. I’m sensing a big grin on your face for some reason today. I hope you’re full of positivity and smiles.

“Cheers, baby. Miss ya.”

Sharing the message, Ms Horwath wrote she “will be playing this on repeat”.

“That’s exactly who you were. Positivity and smiles.”

She previously wrote that her partner was “one of one” and his death left her heart “shattered into a million pieces”.

“I don’t have the words right now. I will love you forever.”

She shared pictures of the couple’s most recent holiday in Callum’s hometown of Perth — which included a stop at a Boxing Day cricket match, a bridge climb over the Swan River, and a private flight over the city.

“This man changed my life in ways that I can’t even put into words,” Ms Horwath wrote.

“I don’t yet understand a world without him and his energy in it. I feel so grateful to have loved him.

“Tell your people you love them. Live life to the fullest every day. Be kind to others. Laugh uncontrollably. Don’t let the small stuff bother you. Lead with positivity. And live like Cal.”

Mexico’s Foreign Minister Alicia Barcena offered condolences to the men’s families, saying her office “expresses its solidarity” with them after the tragedy and “deeply regrets the outcome of the events”.

The trio were in northern Mexico on a surfing holiday when they failed to check in to their accommodation at Rosarito, north of the city of Ensenada where they were last seen on April 27.

Police allege the men were murdered after a bungled car-jacking while camping in San Miguel beach in the Mexican state of Baja California.

Authorities allege would-be thieves fatally shot the men and dumped their bodies in a cliffside well near where the missing men’s tents were found, where blood was reportedly found, and where the burnt-out Chevrolet Colorado ute they had been driving was found on Friday.

Two men and a woman have since been charged with the ”forced disappearance of people” — a crime akin to kidnapping. They are expected to be charged with the men’s murders, too.

At the weekend, the parents of the murdered brothers, Martin and Deborah Robinson, travelled to Mexico to identify their sons and gave a brief statement to the media after they had confirmed their worst fears.

“It is with heavy hearts that we share the news that Callum and Jake have been murdered. Our hearts are broken and the world has become a darker place for us,” Mrs Robinson said.

“Now it’s time to bring ... them home to family and friends — and the ocean waves in Australia. Please live bigger, shine brighter and love harder in their memory.”

She also thanked those who extended condolences and support during this trying time.

Investigators are continuing to comb the isolated beach area, where the bodies were discovered, for any additional evidence.

Baja California Attorney-General Maria Elena Andrade Ramirez promised “this crime won’t be unpunished”.

Officials from the Australian Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade confirmed on Saturday they were providing ongoing assistance to the Robinson family.

The department also confirmed the Australian Embassy in Mexico City was continuing to work closely with the Australian Federal Police and local authorities on the matter.
