Canadian Foreign Affairs Minister Melanie Joly condemns Chinese executions of four dual citizens

China has executed four Canadian citizens on drugs-smuggling charges, Canada’s government says, sparking strong condemnation from Ottawa over Beijing’s use of the death penalty.

“There are four Canadians that have been executed and therefore we are strongly condemning what happened,” she said on Wednesday, adding that all four had been convicted on drug charges.
