Earlier this week Jackson’s father had made desperate pleas via social media to try and locate his missing son who flew out of Queensland for a holiday in Bali and has not been heard from for over two weeks.
Officials in Australia confirmed that Jackson Parker, 22, left Australia for Indonesia on October 30 but has not made contact with anyone since November 8, after failing to check into his booked accommodation.
The Australian Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT) had confirmed that following a request from his family an urgent search has been initiated in Bali to locate Mr Parker.
Jackson’s dad, Roly Parker, had been posting missing person alerts via Bali-based social media groups to raise attention in the hope someone has made contact with his son.
“We are trying to find a missing Australian (our son) and hope some of you can share this message and info with anyone in Bali in the tourist industry, hotels, bars, hostels, tourist operators, authorities and anyone you know,” Mr Parker wrote on Facebook.
“Jackson Parker is listed as missing since November 8th and his family are desperate to find him.
“Authorities have been alerted but getting his information out there is important.
“Its extremely out of character for him to not be in contact.”
Roly Parker was reportedly heading to Bali to join the search for his son after DFTAT confirmed Jackson’s visa entry to Bali said he was booked to stay at Premium Villas Seminyak in the island’s capital of Denpasar, but did not check in to the accommodation.
The Bali Expats Facebook group had over 2400 shares of the missing persons advice and authorities in Denpasar ramped up efforts to find the young Australia which proved crucial in locating the Queenslander.
