Bali-bound traveller fined $7500 after slapping and kicking female Perth Airport employee

An Indian national has been fined $7500 after slapping a female employee at Perth Airport before grabbing her by the throat, pulling her to the ground and kicking her.
Australian Federal Police say the worker told the 43-year-old man he would not be permitted to fly after he became aggressive while waiting to check in for a flight to Bali on February 25.
The man left the area before returning, jumping over the check-in counter and slapping the employee in the face.

The man was also handed a spent conviction.
AFP acting aviation superintendent Shona Davis said officers had a zero-tolerance policy to violent or abusive behaviour towards workers and travellers.
“No one should go to work and be subjected to violence or aggression,” she said.
“The AFP is committed to working closely with all our partners in the airline industry to intervene if anyone’s behaviour interferes with the safety of staff, visitors and passengers in or around the airport.
“The AFP will not hesitate to prosecute those who break the law and poor behaviour will not be tolerated at airports.”
