“River broke its banks. Chaos at the moment,” said another.
Local media said several cars overturned in the water and remain stuck in the middle of roads.
The flooding has also paralysed residents’ and tourists’ movements throughout the region due to road closures, creating traffic jams on multiple roads.
Some flights in and out of the island capital were also cancelled as the wild weather continues to smash the popular holiday destination.
In Padangsambian, west of Denasar, floodwaters entered houses on Wednesday morning with heavy rain and thunderstorms predicted to continue throughout the day, before beginning to ease on Thursday.
There have been no confirmed reports of fatalities.
