A family has been left reeling after their five-year-old son died unexpectedly while on a sleepover at his friend’s house.

Jagger Wing, five, was staying at a family friend’s place on May 30, when he was found unresponsive in the Newburgh, Indiana home.

The young boy was rushed to Gateway Hospital but could not be saved, his family revealed.

His sudden death has left his family devastated and searching for answers, as mystery surrounds the child’s passing.

His mother Alex Wing, 29, said he was a happy and healthy young boy before the sudden death.

“He just learnt how to ride a bike. He loved to be active. He loved to question everything we were doing,” she told WTCV.

“He was with his friends. He was staying the night at a friend’s house when it happened.

“My best friend of 17 years and I can’t imagine that feeling and situation. I hate that I wasn’t there.”

The cause of Jagger’s death is yet to be determined as doctors probe the incident. Mrs Wing revealed her family has a history of underlying heart conditions.

His father Damon Wing said the Spider-Man fanatic had a passion for wrestling.

“He wanted to wrestle,” Mr Wing told WTCV.

“There was no sitting on your butt. He wanted to try for a double leg. He watched every UFC fight with me. He just loved the game.”

It leaves the Wing family looking to repair without their “beautiful, energetic, loving, caring, and pure soul,” who was due to start kindergarten in August.

A GoFundMe set up to support the family has raised more than $34,000 ahead of Jagger’s funeral set to be held on June 10, according to his obituary.
