Jenny Lupton: Flight attendant’s final text revealed after being found dead on layover in Hawaii

The family of a flight attendant who suddenly died during a layover has revealed the final text message the mother sent before her tragic death.

Jenny Lupton, who was a flight attendant for Southwest Airlines, was found dead at a hotel in Waikiki, Hawaii, on the morning of August 20, People reports.

According to information provided to her family, the 50-year-old fell from the 24th floor of the Hilton Hawaiian Village and landed in a waste bin, Ms Lupton’s nephew told KPTV.

Her family has requested that the attorney-general in her home State of Oaklahoma assist in the police investigation as they believe the circumstances surrounding Ms Lupton’s death are suspicious.

“We have no reason to think that Jenny would have intentionally harmed herself,” her nephew told the outlet.

“She has a 15-year-old boy who is her world.”

In a devastating development, the 50-year-old’s niece Hannah Lupton shared the details of the final text message her aunt sent to her colleagues before she unexpectedly died.

“She was even texting one of the other flight attendants asking, ‘What are we doing tomorrow?’ ”she told KWTV.

“And that was her last text.”

Hannah added that her aunt loved her job as a flight attendant and was a devoted mother to her son when she was off the clock.

“She was amazing with the passengers,” Hannah continued.

“She loved to have fun with them... It wasn’t really a job. It was her life.

“Jenny is not with us anymore, but it’s hard to process. And I think the direction of grieving definitely changes with that answer.”

The Honolulu Police Department’s are continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding Ms Lupton’s death.

“This is a thorough investigation that will take time,” a police statement read, as cited by People.

“Detectives are conducting numerous interviews, reviewing and recovering surveillance video, and examining evidence as part of the investigative process.”

Ms Lupton’s cause of death is yet to be determined by a local medical examiner.

A GoFundMe campaign has since been established to help her family deal with the financial stress of Ms Lupton’s passing.

“There are moments when words simply don’t feel like enough. This is one of those moments,” the fundraiser’s statement began.

“Our work family is grieving alongside Jenny’s family following an unimaginable tragedy. What happened has left so many of us heartbroken, devastated, and searching for answers.

“Right now, they are facing an unimaginable loss while trying to navigate everything that comes with losing someone they love.

“The last thing they should have to worry about is the financial burden that can follow such a heartbreaking tragedy.”
