A Polish woman who shocked the world last year when she claimed to be missing child Madeleine Mccann has reemerged with more claims about her identity.

Julia Faustyna, aged in her early 20s, went viral in 2023 after creating an Instagram account called “IamMadeleineMcCann” where she shared a string of photographs she claimed proved her likeness to the young girl.

The claims quickly made headlines around the world with millions wondering if the 17 year cold case would finally be solved.

Madeleine’s parents, Kate and Gerry McCann, also saw the news and approached Faustyna about taking a DNA test to confirm her identity, to which she agreed.

However, the DNA results came back confirming Faustyna was not Madeleine Mccann.

The failed DNA test caused a wave of backlash, with people around the world angry at the young woman for making such claims.

Faustyna was forced to release a statement in response to the outrage, saying it was never her intention to bring sadness to anyone.

“It wasn’t my intention to bring sadness or any other negative emotion to anyone, especially McCann’s family,” she said.

“My main purpose was always to find out who I am and what exactly happened in my very hurtful past.”

However, just over a year after the apology, Faustyna has relaunched her Instagram account, again claiming she is related to Kate and Gerry McCann.

“Forensic DNA expert compared my DNA profile with Madeleine’s DNA profile and confirmed that I am related to Kate and Gerry McCann,” she wrote in the bio of the account.

According to The Tab, Faustyna said she “knows more” than she did last year and has reached out the the McCanns again to discuss the information but has not had a response.

When questioned about why she continues to pursue the claims without any proper evidence, she said she will “never give up” and assured the world that it was “not for attention”.
