Lanzarote, Canary Islands: Toddler, 3, drowns in pool of Tinajo resort while on family holiday
The family were two days into their holiday at the resort.
A family is grieving the loss of a three-year-old girl who drowned while on holidays.
The toddler, who has not been identified, was visiting the Spanish island of Lanzarote with her parents.
They arrived two days before the devastating tragedy and were staying in the resort of Tinajo.

They wrote that some reported the toddler accidentally fell into a swimming pool after straying from her parents, while others said she was already in the pool but was unable to swim.
After the girl was retrieved from the pool, authorities said police were the first to arrive on the scene and they performed CPR until paramedics arrived.
The toddler was resuscitated but was pronounced dead at hospital.
The family’s nationality has not yet been revealed.
An investigation into the incident has been launched.
The Canary Islands’ safety and drowning prevention platform, Canarias 1.500 km de Costa, shared a statement about the tragedy on Facebook.
“A girl, barely three years old, lost her life yesterday after falling into the pool at a vacation rental in the municipality of Tinajo (Lanzarote),” a translation of the post read.
“Emergency services were alerted at 6pm when the 112 emergency line received a call reporting the incident.
“It appears that the parents realised the child was missing and went to the outdoor patio to look for her.
“There, they discovered their daughter’s motionless body lying face down at the bottom of the pool.
“The girl did not know how to swim.”
It is believed to be the fourth drowning on the island this holiday season.
