Lidiane Aline Lorenco: Influencer and daughter found dead in apartment after neighbours report foul smell

An investigation has been launched after an influencer and her daughter were found dead inside their home.

Lidiane Aline Lorenco, 33, and her 15-year-old daughter Miana Sophya Santos were found dead by authorities after neighbours reported a foul smell coming from inside their home.

On October 10, the local fire department was called to a Rio de Janeiro apartment where the pair had been living.

Firefighters tried to knock on the door of the eleventh-floor flat, but no one answered and they were forced to break it down.

Inside, they found Ms Lidiane in a bedroom, and Miana in the living room. Police believe both of them had been dead for quite a long time, The Sun reported.

In a statement, Rio de Janeiro Civil Police said they are yet to determine the circumstances that led to their deaths.

Ms Lidiane, who had more than 50,000 followers on Instagram, was also studying medicine and worked as a model.

She had moved to Rio from Santa Cecilia a few years earlier, and Miana had only recently moved into the apartment with her.

Neighbours said they had not seen Ms Lorenco or her daughter for a long period of time before the grim discovery.

It is unclear if anyone had attempted to check on them in the days before they were found by authorities.

Their bodies were buried on October 12 in Santa Cecilia.
