One Nation has secured a historic win in the seat of Farrer , with the party now targeting additional seats including western Sydney suburbs and Energy Minister Chris Bowen's electorate.

A young mother and her newborn daughter have been found dead in a “tragic accident” during childbirth.

Monika Kubasiewicz was discovered alongside her baby girl inside the bathroom of her home in Carrick-on-Suir in Ireland on Friday afternoon.

Local reports say the Polish-born mother, who lived in the riverside town with her partner and two young children, was believed to have suffered a medical emergency while giving birth.

Investigators believe the 33-year-old and infant had been dead for several hours before they were found by a relative.

Irish police confirmed that the deaths were not being treated as suspicious.

“Gardai continue to investigate all of the circumstances surrounding the discovery of the bodies of a woman aged in her 30s and an infant,” police said in a statement.

“The focus of the Garda investigation at this time concerns the preparation of a file for the coroner.”

Authorities have not publicly released the results of the post-mortem examination for “operational reasons”.

Ms Kubasiewicz and her family had recently moved into the area after living in emergency accommodation during the COVID pandemic.

It was reported that the family had operated a shop in nearby Clonmel before the business struggled during the pandemic.

News of the deaths has rocked the tight-knit community, with social media flooded with messages of grief and support.

“Monica and your baby daughter sleep tight in Heaven,” one woman posted.

Another wrote: “God that’s so sad, condolences to all her family.”

A third added: “Heartbreaking and devastating for her family ... what a terrible tragedy.”

Local councillor David Dunne urged people not to speculate about the circumstances surrounding the deaths.

“There has been a tragedy in Carrick on Suir,” he wrote on Facebook.

“I would ask people not to speculate on what happened and not to share anything they are hearing or have been sent to them.”
