A mother got the shock of her life when she discovered her one-year-old son digging into her father’s ashes — and eating them.

British mum Natasha Emery posted the jaw-dropping footage of her toddler’s bizarre act to TikTok in a video that has since received almost 18 million views.

“Oh my god. When your son eats your dad’s ashes,” she says in the video, showing the distressed little culprit with white powder covering his face and clothes, and an empty brown pot nearby.

Ms Emery then pans to show the chaos of her living room after her son had spread the precious powder all over chest of drawers, the floor and the couch.

The Lincoln-based mother posted a follow-up video to clear up any confusion after TikTok users questioned her choice of location for the ashes.

“I was going to move it, but I hadn’t,” she said after revealing she had been reshuffling the room.

Ms Emery had gone upstairs briefly to put on a wash, only to come back and discover her son’s mischief.

She said she was in “complete shock” and “absolutely mortified” over the incident.

Despite commenters concern for the boy, Ms Emery said she didn’t think he’d eaten a lot.

“I don’t think he’s eaten that much, he’s obviously tasted it and then spat it out and played with it,” she said.

The dumbfounded mum said her immediate response was to call her sister crying.

“I didn’t know what to do,” she said, having made the video to send to her mum.

“He won’t be doing it again because, unfortunately, the rest went up the hoover.”

Thankfully, Ms Emery said the ashes in the pot weren’t all that existed, revealing each member of the family had received one.

The original TikTok, posted on April 1, racked up more than 26,000 comments with users having a field day over the mayhem.

“Your dad will always be apart of your son now,” wrote one user who made the top comment on the video after gaining more than 200,000 likes.

“He’ll never loose 2 truths and a lie (sic),” commented another.

“GIRL WITH THE LIST HERE 😭🙋‍♀️JUST POSTED MY REACTION,” wrote user z00mie whose TikTok account with one million followers is dedicated to a list of reasons why she is not having children.

Even Tide Rescue joined in, commenting: “I don’t know if I can clean this one up...”.
