Paige Adams: Alabama high school coach charged with sex abuse as husband files for divorce
A high school coach has been charged with multiple sex-related offences involving a student, while her husband has reportedly divorced her.
A former high school basketball coach has been charged with multiple sex-related offences involving a student.
Paige Adams, 35, was indicted by a grand jury on more than 30 sex crimes Tuesday, less than a month after abruptly resigning from her role at Cold Springs High School in Alabama.
The charges include engaging in a sex act or deviant sexual intercourse with a student, sexual contact involving a pupil under 19 and distributing obscene material to a student, CBS42 reported.

By continuing you agree to our Terms and Privacy Policy.“This 32-count grand jury indictment speaks for itself,” Champ Crocker, the Cullman County district attorney, told the outlet of the charges that could see her facing 31 years in prison.
The girls’ team coach was once labelled “a great role model for the young people of Cullman County” by school district superintendent Shane Barnette.
She quit soon after a complaint was forwarded to authorities.
“This is the first formal complaint I have received regarding this employee,” Mr Barnette said.
“As soon as the concern was brought forward, an investigation was immediately initiated. The employee chose to resign at that time.”
Barnette had previously said, “Our sole focus is protecting the students of Cullman County Schools. We are going to do what is always right, as we always have.”
She resigned after leading the a girls team to the state championship in what was her first and only season as coach.
Soon after she resigned, her husband, Drew, who’s also a basketball coach at the school, filed for divorce and sought full custody of their son, the New York Post reported.
He had been married to Ms Adams for 15 years, with the pair both coaching at the same school.
She was released from jail after posting a $225,000 bond and is required to wear an electronic monitoring tag.
Her arraignment is scheduled for May 22.
