Reality TV star Mano Machinek dies at age 37 in luxury car crash while filming commercial in Italy

A reality TV star and model has tragically died in a car crash at the age of 37 while filming a commercial in Italy.

Manoel ‘Mano’ Machinek was driving a rented Porsche 993 RS along Lake Maggiore for an advertisement he was shooting when he reportedly lost control of the vehicle on July 30, according to local outlet SkyTG24.

Tragedy struck when the blue vehicle left the road, careened down a steep embankment and slammed into a tree.

Mr Machinek, who is best known for starring in the Austrian reality show Forsthaus Rampensau, was winched from the wreckage by a large team of first respondents who were called to the scene.

Emergency crews performed CPR on Mr Machinek once he was freed from the crushed car but he was unable to be saved and died from his injuries.

Italian authorities are investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident as a cause is yet to be determined. It is alleged the crash wasn’t captured by cameras that were filming at the location at the time.

News of Mr Machinek’s passing was shared to Instagram by Austrian broadcaster ATV in a touching tribute.

“We mourn the loss of Mano, who died in a car accident. Our heartfelt condolences go out to his loved ones,” it wrote online.

“Maria, we wish you every strength and are thinking of you.”

Mr Machinek was widely known among fans for his passion for high-performance cars and motorsport, with the star regularly sharing automotive content on social media alongside his work as a model and TV personality.

His partner of seven years, Maria Makismovic, paid tribute in heartfelt social media post

“My beloved Mano has died in a tragic car accident – while doing something he loved more than almost anything else in this world: driving a car,” she wrote.

“He was at the wheel of a Porsche, a car that meant so much more to him than just a vehicle.”
