Meghan Markle will accompany her husband Prince Harry on a trip to his motherland next month — but her motivation for the visit might be less than regal.

The controversial royal, 44, is reportedly joining the Duke of Sussex and their children Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet for a rare trip to the United Kingdom in July.

The last time the Sussex family were all in the UK was in 2022 during celebrations to mark the late Queen Elizabeth’s 70 years on the throne.

While the trip may seem like a typical family holiday, inside sources say Markle’s reasoning for the visit over the pond is far more self-serving.

An insider has alleged the Duchess believes the trip could provide a boost to her public image and her business venture.

“Her lifestyle business trades heavily rely on an image of elegance, exclusivity, and royal association,” the source revealed to Radar Online.

“A successful UK visit has the potential to reinforce all of that and generate exactly the kind of publicity she needs at a time when her commercial projects are under increased scrutiny.

“In many ways, she’s looking for some of that royal magic to rub off on her brand again.”

Markle’s lifestyle brand As Ever, has sparked extensive controversy since its launch in 2024.

As Ever’s line of luxury lifestyle products have been scrutinised over their high prices — with a seasonal tea set costing $255 and a single candle being priced at $64.

The brand is said to be experiencing financial woes, with various media outlets reporting the royal’s brand is battling surplus stock and negative figures.

In March, streaming giant Netflix announced they were ceasing their partnership with the Duchess’ brand after a year of collaboration.

“As it was always intended, Meghan will continue growing the brand and take it into its next chapter independently, and we look forward to celebrating how she continues to bring joy to households around the world,” the organisation said in a statement at the time.

While Meghan hopes the move will work some much-needed magic on her brand, the controversial Duchess may not get the warm welcome she is anticipating.

Queen Camilla reportedly plans to steer clear of the former Suits star and Prince Harry during their visit, despite her husband King Charles’ excitement at the upcoming visit.
