Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have said farewell to another publicist less than a year after they hired her.

Meredith Maines, who started working with the royal couple in March, has confirmed she has concluded working with Harry and Meghan.

Maines, who worked for the royals as chief communications officer, was responsible for communications across the couples business dealings and nonprofit work, while also managing their public image.

Her departure markes the 11th publicist to part ways with Harry and Meghan in just five years.

Maines, took on the high-profile PR gig alongside US-based PR firm Method Communications.

Now, both Maines and Method have been shown the door.

“Meredith Maines and Method Communications have concluded their work with the Duke and Duchess of Sussex. The Duke and Duchess are grateful for their contributions and wish them well,” a spokesperson for Harry and Meghan told People.

Remaining tight-lipped, Maines thanks Harry and Meghan in a statement, saying she was moving on to another project.

“After a year of inspiring work with Prince Harry and Meghan, Duke and Duchess of Sussex and Archewell, I will be pursuing a new opportunity in 2026,” she said.

“I have the utmost gratitude and respect for the couple and the team, and the good they are doing in the world.”

It has been reported that Liam Maguire, who currently manages communications for Meghan and Harry in Europe and the UK, will move into a consolidated role to take charge of communications.

Reports also suggest that another PR agency has already been lined up as Method’s relationship with the royals comes to an abrupt end.

When Maines was announced as the chief communications officer, it came as a surprise to some.

“There were a few eyebrows raised when Method and Meredith were retained, given their heavy background in tech, consumer PR and venture capital,” a source previously told People.

Sources claim Maines has a few things lined up already for 2026.
