The collection ended with an intimate autumnal snap of Princess Eugenie cuddling Ernest as the pair shared a kiss.
Paying tribute to her son, Princess Eugenie wrote: “Happy 3rd birthday to my tiger loving, hat wearing, constantly hugging, fearless golden boy Ernie. You light up every room with your deep voice and infectious smile.”
The birthday post offers a rare public look inside the family life of Princess Eugenie and her husband, marketing executive Jack Brooksbank, who married at St George’s Chapel in Windsor in 2018.
The couple welcomed their first son, August, in 2021, followed by Ernest in 2023.
Both boys carry names steeped in royal history.
August’s name honours Queen Victoria’s husband Prince Albert, whose full name was Franz August Karl Albert Emanuel, while Ernest was named in tribute to King George V, whose full name was George Frederick Ernest Albert.
The touching family update comes just weeks after Princess Eugenie, 36, announced she was expecting the couple’s third child.
The pregnancy reveal featured another intimate family moment, with Ernest dressed in a Chelsea football kit alongside August, who held up a baby scan picture.
Princess Eugenie shared the news with followers, writing: “Baby Brooksbank due 2026!” followed by a series of red heart emojis and a baby emoji.
Buckingham Palace later confirmed the news in an official statement.
“Her Royal Highness Princess Eugenie and Mr Jack Brooksbank are very pleased to announce that they are expecting their third child together, due this summer.
“August and Ernest are also very excited to have another sibling join the family.
“His Majesty The King has been informed and is delighted with the news.”
The new baby will not hold an HRH title but will become 15th in line to the throne and the 15th great-grandchild of the late Queen Elizabeth II.
The arrival will also mark another milestone for Princess Eugenie and Mr Brooksbank as their growing family expands amid renewed public interest in the younger generation of royals.
