Russia's Foreign Ministry has published a video showing special forces troops seizing Australian-made Bushmasters, saying they'll use them against Ukraine.

Russia’s foreign ministry has reposted a provocative video showing its troops seizing Australian-made army vehicles, and saying they will be used against Ukraine.

Vision showing one Bushmaster completely destroyed and another in working order has been used in a propaganda video where Russian soldiers even express “gratitude” to Australia.

“It will serve us well,” one soldier said.

The video was reposted by Russia’s foreign ministry, and the Russian embassy in Canberra as well.

“The Australian government has gifted 120 Bushmasters to assist Zelensky’s regime in fighting Russia to the last Ukrainian,” the embassy said on Facebook.

“Most of the vehicles were destroyed in combat, but some were captured. Russian forces will put them to proper use.”

It comes just 24 hours before Anthony Albanese will join an international phone hook-up with world leaders to discuss sending peacekeepers into Ukraine.

“We don’t have to think very hard about which side we’re on in this conflict — Russia is the aggressor,” Australia’s Prime Minister said on Friday.

In Russia overnight, President Vladimir Putin gave his first reaction to the proposed 30-day ceasefire.

He said he agrees with the idea but there are questions.

Russia has always insisted Ukraine cannot join NATO, host foreign troops, or take back the land Russia’s seized.

The negotiations continue.
