Court documents reveal investigators found her decomposed head and torso in a cadaver bag in the car’s front boot.
Authorities believe the teen may have been dead for several weeks before the gruesome discovery.
Police formally arrested Mr Burke for the “murder of Celeste Rivas”, marking the first major breakthrough after months of speculation and online intrigue surrounding the case.
However, Celeste’s cause of death remains unknown with the medical examiner describing the body as “severely decomposed” and withholding a final ruling as the investigation continues.
The case has gripped online communities, with theories swirling for months about any link between the teen and the Romantic Homicide singer.
Mr Burke has remained largely silent, though his representatives previously said he had been cooperating with authorities.
Mr Burke was raised in Houston and has collaborated with musicians including Kali Uchis, Stray Kids’ Hyunjin, Laufey and 21 Savage.
He also created an anthem for the hit video game Fortnite.
