A mother who held a woman captive under horrific conditions for more than 25 years has shared a grim three word message for her victim outside court.

Amanda Wixon, 56, took on the responsibility of caring for the unnamed victim known as “K” in 1996 after the then 14-year-old experienced difficulties with her own family.

What was meant to be a refuge, turned into an abusive living situation that the woman endured for decades before finally escaping once she was in her 40s.

After being found guilty of a string of offences, Wixon was asked what she had to say to her victim, who suffered terribly at her hand.

“Not a lot,” Wixon said outside court. She was then asked if she was sorry, to which she replied, “No. I never done it.”

Wixon, a mother of 10, forced K to clean the family home in Tewkesbury, Gloucestershire, look after her children and her pets everyday.

While doing all of this labour, K was only fed leftovers once per day and was banned from taking the family’s food.

She was beaten and kicked by Wixon, who also threw her down the stairs several times, The Sun reported.

During her time in the house of horrors, K lost several teeth from being hit in the face with a broom handle on several occasions.

The only space she had to herself was filthy cramped bedroom with unwashed bedding, peeling walls and very little light.

Adding to her isolation were makeshift window coverings in the kitchen made from black bin liners that stopped K from being able to see outside.

She was only allowed to leave the house for medical appointments and the rare instance she was allowed to join in on Halloween trick or treating.

It was only in 2021, after more than 25 years trapped inside Wixon’s home, that the alarm was finally raised.

K managed to use a mobile phone to contact a family member who she told about the abuse.

The relative then contacted the police, who arrived at the property in March of 2021, and found the victim in a terrible state.

By this time, all of K’s teeth were missing and one of her arms was bruised.

“She smelt heavily of body odour, even from two metres away. She was malnourished, timid and frightened,” an attending officer said.

Wixon was arrested on suspicion of neglect.

After a two week trial, she was found guilty of multiple offences, including forcing a person to complete labour, false imprisonment and assault on Wednesday.

Since the day she was freed, K’s quality of life has improved enormously.

According to The Sun, her social workers have reported that she has put on weight and is attending maths and English lessons at a nearby college.

K now plays football regularly.

An unidentified neighbour has since come forward with recollections of Wixon’s behaviour.

“She treated her children appallingly. I’d often see her in the street when they were younger and she seemed nasty and vindictive,” the neighbour said.

“She’d always be pointing a finger at one of them and yelling at them, telling them how useless and ungrateful they were.

“My heart breaks at the thought of what this poor young woman, she treated as a slave, must’ve gone through.

“Clearly, she was kept indoors all the time. We never even saw anyone other than her children looking out of the windows. It seems incredible that this could’ve been going on right in the middle of a heavily populated housing estate like this one.”

Wixon will be sentenced within the next two months.
