The charges were laid after prosecutors received a file of evidence from Bedfordshire Police concerning the allegations.

Andrew Tate, a 38-year-old influencer and former kickboxer, faces 10 charges connected to three alleged victims, including rape, actual bodily harm, human trafficking and controlling prostitution for gain.

Tristan Tate, 36, faces 11 charges connected to one alleged victim, including rape, actual bodily harm and human trafficking.

The pair were both born in the US but moved to Luton in the UK with their mother after their parents divorced.

The Tates have always denied any wrongdoing.

UK prosecutors said in a statement on Wednesday that the courts in Romania, where the Tates are separately under criminal investigation, ordered their extradition to Britain last year.

“However, the domestic criminal matters in Romania must be settled first,” a spokesperson said.

Andrew and Tristan Tate, who have made millions off their work as online “manosphere” influencers, were allowed to fly to Florida in the US on a chartered jet earlier this year after Romanian authorities lifted travel restrictions against them.

Romanian authorities have said that although they were allowed to leave the country, Andrew and Tristan Tate are still required to appear “before the judicial bodies upon each summons” or else face “a stricter deprivation of liberty measure.”
