According to the Baton Rogue Fire Department, a mechanical failure is believed to have sparked the blaze.
Mr Dupre was immediately rushed to hospital with severe burns in a serious condition.

His wife, Nicole Dupre, shared an update on Facebook, and said it is a “miracle” he is alive.
“Bevan just went back for another surgery, this one is extensive and will take a lot of skilled hands, and a lot of hours,” she wrote. “He is a true miracle to be alive.”
“I know everyone has seen the awful, excruciating painful to see, video and photo of him. Please know him as a father, a provider, a brother, someone’s son, and an amazing husband and friend. He’s alive. My hero.”
Although Mr Dupre’s family is thankful he’s alive, Mrs Dupre said he’s still got a “long way to go”.
“We have a long ways to go. Many surgeries, many weeks in the burn unit.”
Mr Dupre’s sister, Caroline Blood, organised a GoFundMe to “help with anything Bevan and his wife may need while they are going through this time.”
“Bevan is alive thanks to his crew members and doctors who did all that they could to keep him that way!,” Ms Blood wrote.
