A resident has been left shocked and amazed after his quiet morning was interrupted by a hot air balloon with 13 passengers crash landing in his backyard.
A family in California was gobsmacked to find a hot air balloon full of people land in their backyard over the weekend.
Cameras outside the Temecula home detected movement in the yard about 8.30 am, and then there was a knock on the door.

The pilot of the aircraft had to make an emergency landing after the winds had died down, which caused the hot air balloon to hover and run out of fuel.
No one was injured during the incident.
In hilarious footage posted online, Mr Perrin can be heard saying hello to the hot air balloon’s passengers, all waving back and laughing that they had ended up in his backyard.
Although Mr Perrin’s property was not damaged, Jenna Perrin, his wife, said the balloon was “practically kissing the fence”.
“I was amazed that they missed our tree, they missed our house,” she said.
The balloon remained in the yard for about two hours while refuelling, and then needed to travel over the house to the street to be put on a transportation truck.
“It was from Pixar’s ‘Up’ — that’s what it looked like,” Ms Perrin said.
“At one point, they positioned it so well as it was coming up, it looked like our house could just go with it.”
Neighbours gathered to watch the spectacle.
“(The pilot) did a really good job making sure everyone was safe, and we’re just glad that we can all laugh about it now,” Hunter Perrin said.
