A couple has been arrested after allegedly engaging in sexual activity mid-flight on a JetBlue plane headed to Florida, with their actions witnessed by children on board.

Trista Reilly, 43, was seen “making up-and-down movements with her head while she was face down” in the lap of Christopher Drew Arnold, 42, according to court documents and witness statements obtained by WWSB.

The incident occurred on a flight from New York to Sarasota on July 19 at 10.28am and was reported by a mother whose children observed the couple’s behaviour. She said her kids saw the “disgusting public behaviour”.

The children’s testimony corroborated the mother’s complaint, leading to the couple’s arrest.

The couple were taken into custody by Sarasota Bradenton Airport police after the plane landed and charged with lewd or lascivious exhibition in the presence of minors.

Both Ms Reilly and Mr Arnold have since been released from jail and are scheduled for arraignment on August 15.

JetBlue condemned the behaviour as “completely unacceptable” and confirmed the couple will no longer be allowed to fly with the airline.

The airline cooperated fully with law enforcement during the investigation.
