Confronting surveillance video has been released, showing the moment a trespasser was sucked into a moving plane’s engine on an airport runway in the US.
The person, who authorities are yet to publicly identify, had jumped a fence and was on the runway at Denver International Airport on Friday night when he was struck and killed by an Airbus A321neo during takeoff.

New CCTV video of the harrowing moment has since been released by the City of Denver on Sunday, showing the lead up to the tragedy.
In the vision, the man can be seen walking calmly from one end of the runway to the other as the Frontier flight barrelled towards him.
The victim appeared to be in line with the engine of the jet as it collided with him, sucking the upper half of his body inside.
Flight data states the aircraft was travelling at 223km/hr at the time of impact.
A passenger who was on the flight with his sons told local media he observed “the legs of a human spinning around in the engine” right after the collision.
Shortly after the horrifying incident, Frontier Airlines released a statement identifying flight 4345 as the one involved in the collision, saying that “smoke was reported in the cabin and the pilots aborted takeoff”.
“We are investigating this incident and gathering more information in coordination with the airport and other safety authorities,” the airline said.
Passengers were evacuated on slides and the emergency crew bussed them to the terminal.
An airport spokesperson said 12 passengers suffered minor injuries and five were taken to hospital.
US Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy said in a post on X that the victim “breached airport security at Denver Int’l Airport, deliberately scaled a perimeter fence, and ran out onto a runway.”
“No one should EVER trespass on an airport,” he added.
Official investigations into the collision remain ongoing.
