Emergency service authorities have released new images of Travis Decker, who is wanted on suspicion of the murder of his three daughters, as they intensify a massive manhunt around the United States and Canadian border.

The former army soldier, who has vast experience in wilderness survival and covert operations, has been on the run since police discovered the bodies of his three daughters, Paityn, 9, Evelyn, 8, and Olivia, 5, in bushland.

The alarm was raised after he failed to return them to their mother following a scheduled visitation.

Police have now released CCTV images of Mr Decker, warning members of the public not to approach the man if they see him.

The Chelan County Sheriff’s Office are coordinating the search for Mr Decker, who has been charged with one count of kidnapping and three counts of first-degree murder.

The 32-year-old man was last seen wearing a tan or green T-shirt with dark shorts. He measures 5’8 in height and has black hair and brown eyes.

The sheriff’s office has warned the public that Mr Decker “dangerous” and “may be armed.”

“We continue these search efforts, acting upon gathered information and tips from the public, and leads developed through even more search warrants,” a CCSO statement said.

“We ask the public to remain vigilant as they venture back out to the recreation areas of Chelan County. We have notified the United States Forestry Service that they can reopen the recreation areas as well.”

Mr Decker reportedly searched online for information on moving to Canada, prompting authorities to widen the search radius.

The North Cascades National Park Service Complex has reopened but overnight stays on previously closed trails, including back country camps and cross-country zones, remain closed.

The US Marshals Service wrote in Federal court documents that the Decker sisters were found at a campground about 11 miles from the Pacific Crest Trail. The PCT is a well-established trail that runs along the entire west coast of the US from Mexico to Canada, which ends at the northern border.

Mr Decker was previously a serviceman in the US Army and has extensive training in “navigation, woodland/mountainous terrain, long distance movements, survival, and numerous other disciplines needed to be able to flee,” court documents relating to the charges state.
